Kiyawanna Asai 10 – Kombuwa

Most supplementary reading books published for Grades one and two contain all the syllabic content. This leaves little room for the child to read without the support of parents or teachers. However, since this series of books presents syllabic words from syllabic to syllabic, it provides a great support for building the child’s reading habit.

Sinhala characters are printed according to the guidelines for writing Sinhala characters compiled by the National Education Commission.

The letters have been revised according to the Sinhala color scheme in the new 2016 Grade 1 syllabus.

• Once the child has become familiar with the kombu, encourage them to pronounce the words in this book with and without the kombu at times, so that the child can better understand and absorb the difference. Help the child do this with joy as a fun game.
